Eleven syllabi some of which were compiled by Grace R. Darling for use in home and social economics courses. Due to a lack of textbooks in the subject areas covered, the syllabi were developed to take the place of a textbook. Each syllabus includes an outline on the subject under discussion, a list of general references available, a list of references for special sub-topics relating to the larger subject, a list of problems and topics, and a list of questions. A few of these syllabi were also issued as part of the Stout Institute Bulletin series. Topics include marriage and the family, spending, eugenics, euthenics, domestic service, the disinteigration of the family, ethics of family life, parenthood education, women in modern industry, women in social service, and sex education.
